DC53 High toughness cold working die steel
Corresponding to other steel mill grades:ASSAB88 K430
Characteristics
1、Heat treatment hardness is higher than SKD11
After tempering at high temperature (520~530℃), it can reach 62~63HRC with high hardness, and DC53 is superior to SKD11 in strength and wear resistance.
2、toughness is twice as good as SKD11.
The toughness of DC53 is more prominent in cold working die steel, and the die made by DC53 seldom appears crack and crack, which greatly improves its service life.
3、 Less residual stress after wire cutting
After high temperature tempering, the residual stress is reduced, and the risk of cracking and deformation of machining wire cutting is suppressed.
4、Better machinability and abrasiveness than SKD11
DC53 machinability and abrasiveness are superior to SKD11, use DC53 can increase tool life and reduce machining process.

Purpose
- Precision stamping die: precision blanking die for wire cutting processing and various use stamping die.
- Tools for plastic deformation of hard-working materials: die for cold forging, deep drawing and twisting.
- Other: high speed blanking punch, stainless steel plate punch.
Heat treatment
The DC53 is a new type of cold working die steel for SKD11. Its technical specification is set out in Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) G4404, which overcomes the weakness of hardness and toughness after tempering at high temperature and will replace SKD11. in general and precision die fields
